Corporations are stealing our groundwater and polluting our rivers and lakes and our state is the third largest importer of out-of-state and Canadian trash. But our lawmakers in Lansing don’t seem to be doing anything about these issues. Clean Water Action is an organization with over 250,000 members in Michigan working to empower people to take action to protect America's waters, build healthy communities and to make democracy work for all of us. For 38 years Clean Water Action has succeeded in winning some of the nation's most important environmental protections through grassroots organizing, expert policy research and political advocacy focused on holding elected officials accountable to the public.
As part of our staff, you would organize communities around environmental issues. Responsibilities include one-on-one communication, fundraising, dispersing information, and good record keeping.
We look for candidates who have strong oral and written communication skills, and who possess good attention to detail. Candidates should have an interest in working to protect our environment. We do provide extensive training on the job responsibilities.
Hours for the work are 2pm to 10:30pm, Monday through Friday, or at least 3 days a week between Monday and Friday. Pay is $375 - 500 per week for full time work. Our office is located right in downtown Ann Arbor.
