Join an internationally recognized firm as it develops a forestry and land-use practice focused on managing a portfolio of emission reduction projects generated in North America.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, structuring and executing deals relating to forestry. It is expected this will include re/af-forestation, management, and avoided deforestation and/or conversion projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

* Originate and develop a portfolio of high quality emission reduction credits from North American based projects in the forestry, land use, and related sectors (including biofuels, agriculture, et.al.)
* Provide implementation guidance on relevant methodological alternatives for the quantification and registration of forestry and land use offsets.
* Work with the Commercialization team to assess and identify demand for forestry and land use offsets and structure transactions from this portfolio.
* Track and provide input into the definition of relevant regulatory and policy developments including CAR, VCS, Federal and others.
* Work with the firm's policy team to develop and communicate key messages and desired outcomes on various US policy developments.


Skills and Qualifications:

* Experience with US forest industry, particularly industrial forestry applications, and an established network in the community
* Experience in evaluating, structuring and executing deals related to forestry
* Technical knowledge of forest carbon dynamics, the interactions of the 5 major pools, ability to understand stand tables, growth profiles, rotation options, etc. is required
* Knowledge of both state and federal policy and key engagements within the industry
* Experience with actual carbon forestry projects ranging from writing PDDs, contracts, and running projects and/or validator/verifier experience is a plus
* Understanding of key methodology issues in forestry (CDM, VCS, CAR, CCX)
* Ideally a Graduate with a degree in natural resources, forestry, environmental policy and mitigation, or relevant field; 5-8 years experience
* Excellent written and verbal skills, strong negotiation skills, and a good deal of drive and ambition

The Sales and Marketing Director will be responsible for:
• Developing customer relationships across a range of educational institutions

• Helping develop and implement a long term marketing strategy

As part of the senior management team reporting to the CEO, the Senior Vice President of Operations will play a critical role in the development of the company's systems design and engineering platform, as well as be responsible for designing, engineering and implementing large-scale scale (100kW+) commercial solar PV systems.

The SVP of Operations will be responsible for establishing and overseeing a top-tier engineering team. He/She will liaise closely with the business development team and finance team to develop highly customized and cost effective solar solutions. The candidate will also play an active role in building strategic relationships with manufacturers and integrators. Considerable experience and creativity are required, as well as the ability and maturity to manage growth within a fast-paced, start-up environment.

Responsibilities:

* Management and oversight of each phase of commercial scale solar project development within a specified timeframe
* Attending site qualification visits to collect information needed to complete the design and permitting of large-scale solar electric systems.
* Designing innovative and cost efficient photovoltaic systems, and creating professional CAD drawings including one-line diagrams, structural designs, electrical designs, and system sizing
* Overseeing and executing the permitting, incentive, and interconnection processes
* Working with a variety of technological partners andcoordinatingprocurement of panels, inverters, racking, wiring, and monitoring systems
* Negotiating contracts with manufacturers, integrators, electricians andinstallers for all services and materials. Coordinating the development of a bill of material for each project based on the final approved design
* Coordinating and managing project costs with the SVP of finance
* Obtaining design approvals from additional licensed engineers as necessary


Skills and Qualifications:
The System Designer and Project Manager must:

* Live in the New York area or be willing to relocate.

* Hold B.S. in Electrical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering degree may be acceptable depending on the amount of electrical design experience the candidate has)
* Professional Electrical Engineering license and state electrical contractor's license highly desirable
* Minimum of 2 years experience performing design and permitting activities with a solar electric installation company on commercial scale installations (Additional experience performing design and permitting activities with an electrical engineering company is a plus)
* Experience designing with medium voltage equipment
* Experience working in the construction industry a valuable asset for this position

* Proven ability to simultaneously manage numerous complex solar development projects, each involving multiple suppliers
* Excellent working knowledge of Full AutoCAD or AutoCAD LT with NitroCAD or equivalent
* Excellent price negotiation skills
* Understanding of: project finance, solar markets, solar photovoltaic technology, and renewable energy / environmental policy issues
